SportCruiser
Competent and Affordable S-LSA - Docile handling and affordable all-metal two-seater.
Think flying is too complicated for you to learn, or a too expensive for your lifestyle?
Think again. The SportCruiser offers the exceptional design and performance
at a price that can make your dreams of flying a new reality. The SportCruiser
is a substantial airplane that remains practical and affordable. Whether you’re
a looking to begin flying lessons, a pilot needing personal transportation, or a
flight training organisation selecting the best plane to meet the demands of a multiple-aircraft
operation, consider the SportCruiser.
Competence and Convenience:
Sporting fantastic all-round visibility, the all-metal, low-wing, 46-inch wide cockpit,
economical 100hp Rotax Engine, SportCruiser is ready to take a large payload
a long way, on just a little money. Burning around 4 - 4.5 gallons of auto fuel
per hour, the SportCruiser won’t break the budget; and with its American-designed,
all-metal traditional construction and US-sourced materials and airframe components,
keeping it flying (and insured!) will be trouble-free. The SportCruiser is
a very sleek aircraft with a cruise speed at 75% power of 106 knots on the fixed
pitch propeller, and with the addition of the optional wheel fairing and in flight
electrical VP propeller this will increase to 116 knots. All three SAW aircraft
are designed to be easy to fly, with touchdown speeds in the high 20-knot range.
Light Sport Aircraft cc, importer and distributor of the Czech Aircraft Works
designs, completed all the non type certification for the SportCruiser to the new
LSA category of 600kg with the South African CAA in December 2006. Ian Puntis said
"It helped that we have such great support from CZAW, and that we’re learning what
it takes to certify this new category of LSA aircraft." The Parrot is expected to
be certified early in the new year.
A wide range of avionics can be fitted, including a glass cockpit. A number of SportCruisers
have been purchased for flight instruction in the USA, and in South Africa Lanseria
Flight Centre will take delivery of their first one in September 2006.
For those looking for a good economic hour-builder or an affordable personal all-metal
aircraft, this is a real winner!
"Unless you have been on holiday to Mars for the past few months you will almost
certainly be aware that the European Aviation Safety Agency is currently reviewing
the way in which the lighter end of GA is regulated. There is much optimism in the
SportCruiser..." Popular Flying UK June 2006
